Softshell is made from woven fabric, making it a layer that brings comfort without the restriction or limitations of other materials. Although not 100% waterproof, the material is water-resistant, highly breathable, high-performing, and lasts a long time!

I went on a kayak trip in early September, 2022 and needed to upgrade some of my gear. I replaced my old rain gear with custom fit Spirit West SwitchBack jacket and pants. The fabric seems to be very similar to my Arcteryx coat but it's much quieter. The hood worked perfectly and was stiff enough that I didn't need a baseball cap. We had a several days of wind and rain and the coat and pants worked flawlessly. It's so comfortable that I'll be able to wear it around town too.
